Located in the rolling hills of far northwest Missouri, Denver Sleigh Works and Museum has a collection of over 300 antique horse-drawn sleighs located in 9 buildings on the square in scenic Denver, MO.
Most of these vintage sleighs are over a century old, while some date back to as far as the 18th century (1700's) and have come from locations ranging from the United States and Canada to Switzerland and Russia! The styles include wide-body cutters, Russian/Canadian sleighs (Dr. Zhavigo type), bob/work sleighs, four passenger sleighs (Portland and Buffalo) and many more.
We buy, rent, lease, repair, refurbish and sometimes sell sleighs. These historic snow sleighs are in various conditions ranging from excellent to "pieces and parts." Our country sleigh shop will gladly offer guidance in re-doing your own sleigh.
A wall of European style sleds will bring out the kid in all who enter here. We have dozens of early 1900 sleds such as the "Ram's Head", dog sleds, goat sleds and uni-runner sleds.
Do you have a sleigh story about yourself or a relative? We try to save not only the sleighs but also the stories and memories from the past. We have written several "Coffee Table" books with stories told to us about sleighs in our collection and are available for sale upon request. Call, write or email us with your winter sleigh experiences! Who knows, your story may end up in our book!
Come in and take a look around! Denver Sleigh Works and Museum is a member of the Harvest Hosts RV Network and we welcome all RVers/boondockers to come by and visit.
